Switched on and ready to code: We’ve launched our BSc in Computing!

BSc Computing
Along with key industry players, our government aims to transform Information Technology into a strong economic pillar for the country and for Africa by 2030. By heavily investing in IT infrastructure, intelligence and innovation, Mauritius aims to attract global players and create over 15,000 jobs in the near future.
All that’s crucially needed right now is an IT course that brings cutting-edge international expertise and knowledge to Mauritian students, and shape them to helm this new industry. That’s exactly where we come in.
“We are proud to announce that we’re now offering one of the most important degrees on the market: a BSc in Computing,” announced Dr Hardin-Ramanan. “The applied computing degree focuses on the technical aspects of the discipline, and covers a multitude of subjects from software design and programming to computer networking and artificial intelligence.”
Chronicles understands that the course is fully supported by industry and endorsed by the Australian Computer Society, the largest technological ecosystem and ICT community in Australia. A number of local IT industry partners will work closely with lecturers and students to provide Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) experiences within and beyond the curriculum: the ideal way to ensure that our students have a foot in the industry before they even graduate.
The course starts in February 2019 and has two intake periods in February and July.
