Stepping into the workplace 23-24 January 2008

On 23 and 24 January 2008, we held our Annual 'Stepping into the Workplace' programme, a workshop designed to assist our graduates find employment in the world of work.

Some 62 graduates from our three Faculties were present to take advantage of this laudable event, listening to eminent personalities from this country's top companies. The event also included three workshops lead by our Executive Director, Director of Academic Affairs, and the Faculty of Humanities respectively.

Presenting their companies at the event were the following personalities:

  • Mr S. Mohadeb, Senior Partner at PriceWaterhouseCoopers
  • Mr Marc Desmarais, Human Resource Manager at the MCB Ltd
  • Mr Jacques Li Wan Po, CEO of Food Canners Ltd
  • Mr Eddy Jolicoeur, Chief Human Resource Executive of Rogers & Co. Ltd
  • Mr David Martial, Director of Communication of CIEL Corporate Services Ltd
  • Miss Manaicha Verruppen, HR Assistant at Emtel Ltd
  • Mrs Marie Louise Teng, Senior Partner of the DCDM Group

All the presenters expressed their entire satisfaction of the event, with a special note on the interaction between themselves and the students, which they qualified as 'highly enriching'.

The programme culminated into the production of a Graduate Recruitment Book, a specially prepared booklet containing the CVs of all Graduates present at the event, which will be sent to the Top 100 Mauritian Companies in the coming days.
