Leader of the Year 2008 Award 16 January 2009

Mike Sophie, Leader of the Year (LCP 2008)
The Leadership Challenge Programme 2008 drew to a close on Friday 16 January when all delegates met for the last time over a farewell lunch to review the past 12 months. This flagship Programme of our Institute began in 2004 and is to date, the only programme in this country entirely devoted to developing leadership ability and potential.
Those present during this last session were asked to rank its ten modules in order of importance and interest, as well as formulate various comments on the programme's strengths and weaknesses. The overall picture that emerged was most positive with all delegates expressing how they felt they had benefited by attending this year-long programme and more importantly, how they have changed as a direct consequence of their participation.
On that same day, the Leader of the Year 2008 trophy went to the most deserving delegate, namely Mike Sophie, Branch Manager at the MCB. Thanking the selection committee and his colleagues for their vote of confidence, Mike expressed his satisfaction at the way the 2008 programme had been run, noting in particular the prevailing spirit of comradeship and support.
