Information Day on Communication 7 April 2009

Our students have been working closely with the newly created Public Relations and Communication Professionals Association of Mauritius PRCPA (M) and are now participating in the organization of their second joint event: an information day on "Communication applied to the promotion of Mauritius as a destination". The event will take place on Friday 10th April, 2009 at the Ecole Hotelière Sir Gaëtan Duval. The objectives of the event are to showcase the institutions involved in promoting our country abroad as well as make the students and professionals familiar with the various communication techniques and skills used. They will also be informed of the professional opportunities available in the field of communication and public relations.

For our students, this is an excellent opportunity to gather professional experience through working with benevolent professionals of the local PR and Communication industry. Under the supervision of professionals from the PRCPA, our Mass Communication students will be working on a press pack for the event, writing a communiqué, doing research and preparing briefs on all the participants in the event. With the help of Events and Graphic Design students, they will also work on setting up a stand for CTI, help with setting up the venue and presenting the courses offered.

As an Institute, we will contribute by presenting the various courses and training packages we offer and will seize the opportunity the organizers are giving us to interact with other members of academia, training institutions and the professional world in the sector of communication.
