CTI welcomes distinguished Curtin visitor 16 July 2008

Professor Jane den Hollander, Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Curtin University, Western Australia, was on an official three-day visit to CTI from 14th to 16th July. She was accompanied by Mr Bernie McKenna, Director Quality and Enhancement. On this occasion, a Memorandum of Understanding between Curtin and CTI was signed by Professor Hollander and Professor Charoux, CTI's Executive Director, to mark the launch of a new Master of International Business to be offered by CTI in early 2009. Professor Hollander and Mr McKenna had important discussions with members of the Executive Committee, the Management Committee, the academic staff and students of CTI. She also had lunch with representatives of CTI's shareholders and members of the Board. Possible new academic degrees for CTI, Quality Assurance and other academic issues were discussed. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor applauded the excellent work being done by CTI as Curtin's partner in this region of the Indian Ocean and consulted widely on CTI's delivery of programmes, vision for the future and new ventures.
As Deputy V.C., Professor Hollander is responsible for the overall design and delivery of courses and degrees by Curtin University to some 41,000 students across five Faculties, both on its Bentley Campus, Western Australia, and in many other countries, including Hong Kong, Singapore and Mauritius. A graduate of Witwatersrand, she first joined Curtin eight years ago and has been a member of its executive committee for the last six years. As a specialist in Biology, Teaching and Learning, Professor Hollander, who had previously worked in a number of British Universities, has published widely in her field of research.
