Our Dream Campus 28 June 2010

CTI students, accompanied by Mrs. Odylle Charoux and Dr. Karlo Jouan, visiting our new campus
During the month of June, CTI invited six of our students to a site visit of our Rs220m campus currently under construction at Telfair, Moka. The following spontaneous report outlines their perceptions and reactions following their visit.
CTI Campus, the dream of all CTI students, is finally within our arm's reach. As soon as we entered Moka, we were selflessly welcomed by Mother Nature which made its presence felt with the lush greenery surrounding the area. We drove our way through the sugarcane fields to finally reach 'the' campus. We were six to walk through our dreams in reality and holding our hands were Odylle and Prof. Karlo who skillfully guided us through the edifice. Stunned as we were to see the progress of the infrastructure, it took us few minutes to ensure ourselves it was actually the one.
With safety caps on our heads, we were steered towards the different rooms. A massive circular space made its appearance and to our pleasure the area was specifically devised to be our very own 1.0. The spot has been wisely designed keeping in mind the needs of modern students. There are several amphitheatres in the same vein as 4.2 to carry out lectures and small rooms with a comfy atmosphere have been specifically designed to conduct tutorials hence easing communication and learning. A large hip library is intended to be at the reach of students whereby they will be able to learn in a serene environment in comparison to the hustle bustle of the city of Quatre Bornes. To put the cherry on the cake, we were introduced to the child care facilities from which children of lecturers, full time and part time students will benefit till late at night.
Space has been shrewdly used to allow freedom for students to sit around with their laptops and work wherever they are at ease, be it on the staircase or in the canteen. To the doubtless contentment of students, the canteen will be fractioned in two having an indoor and an outdoor area. The outdoor canteen will be strewn with several kiosks allowing us students to enjoy the blissful sight of mountains and fields while munching our food and even relax while chit chatting with friends. On the professional front, a corporate training room is intended to crop up and a cozy yet chic lounge will be built for visitors. As far as transport is concerned, the sugarcane fields will be wiped away to allow buses to pave their route from the Apollo-Bramwell Hospital directly to the campus. The parking lot is intended to cater to the needs of the growing populace of lecturers, students and visitors.
Our tryst with the campus was a success as we found ourselves savoring the taste of a new ray of hope to live a real university experience. It is with renewed zeal that we eagerly look forward to seeing our dream campus translates into the reality that was portrayed to us. We are as keen as ever to shift soon and live our shared dreams together with open eyes by having ingrained in us memories of our own CTI of Orbis Court which will remain engraved eternally with compassion in our hearts.
