CERTIFICATE III IN HAIRDRESSING
Courses on offer are certified by Challenger TAFE of Australia. Training facilities include a state-of-the-art Training Salon in Moka sponsored by l'Oréal Professionel. This qualification is registered with the Mauritian Qualifications Authority.
Certificate III in Hairdressing incorporates everything students need to learn to become confident and competent Salon Hairdressers.
COURSE OVERVIEW
The Certificate III in Hairdressing is a one-year, full-time programme and the entry level qualification required to receive recognition as a fully-qualified hairdresser. This course is designed to provide the participant with not only the knowledge and skills to function within the operations of a hairdressing salon, but upon successful completion, students are "job-ready" and recognized internationally as fully qualified hairdressers. The focus of the Certificate III course is not only on the necessary underpinning knowledge to be a competent hairdresser but includes a vast array of hands-on, practical experience options, ranging from classroom-based activities, to simulated and real-world salons.
Once students have completed this qualification, they may elect to continue their studies to the next qualification where credit will be granted for units already completed towards the Diploma of Hairdressing Salon Management.
COURSE RECOGNITION
The Certificate III in Hairdressing is the Australian standard trade qualification for the hairdressing industry. It is the entry level qualification required for recognition as a qualified hairdresser in Australia and is thus accepted by most Western and Eastern Countries for trade licensing purposes. Upon completion of this qualification, students will be able to seek employment as a fully qualified hairdresser with a commercial hairdressing salon.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
There are no pre-requisites for this qualification but learners need to have acquired the appropriate levels of language literacy and numeracy to be enrolled on the programme. Applicants must thus attend a selection interview during which their reading, writing, oral communication and numeracy skills will be assessed.
