The Faculty of Humanities offers a variety of courses in partnership with some of the most prestigious Australian Tertiary Institutes. The courses are creative, applied and are combined with a series of work placements which make the student ready for employment after graduating.

We work very closely with the private sector and have a wide range of network which makes us aware of the demands and requirements of the workplace. We tailor-make our courses with the needs of the Industry in mind and considering that our shareholders are some of the top companies in Mauritius, our students have a pool of employment opportunities when they leave our Institute.

Research is an integral part of our programmes and it is often conducted in partnership with the private sector as well as Non-Government Organizations (NGOs) through real-life briefs given by representatives of each. Companies appreciate the fresh input our students provide and the elegant solutions they offer to the various challenges and complex problems.

At the Humanities, we pride ourselves on our creativity and our showcases are something the Industry, the press and the young talents look forward to. We organize one formal in-house showcase every year and we also create other opportunities for our students to share their talent and experience with the Industry and the public at large through gala evenings, public displays and information sessions.

Our interest in creativity does not, however, interfere with our constant focus on academic achievement: we boast a very high success rate and we continue to work on quality to keep up the standards we are renowned for. The Faculty has been growing steadily and we have, this year, reached an unprecedented intake nearing 300 students with over two thirds enrolled in the Design, Foundation and Mass Communication courses offered in partnership with Curtin University of Technology.

Our no less popular TAFE courses (Challenger and Central Institutes of Technology, Australia) offer an opportunity to the often more mature students, some of whom are already in employment, to update their knowledge and skills and remain in the race in the fast-changing world. It also gives other younger students the opportunity to further their studies and the possibility to join university at a later stage if they are interested.

The courses offered are varied and cater to a range of needs and interests. From Graphic Design (Certificate IV and Diploma) to Children's Services (Certificate III and Diploma), the students are spoilt for choice.
